Hello extraordinary humans,I’m going to be blunt here. Training without recovering is a waste of your time and ultimately recipe for injury and burnout. It’s essentially digging a hole while pretending you’re building a sand castle. Eventually you’ll get stuck and wonder where that beautiful thing you were creating went so wrong and how you ended up at the bottom of a hole. This is probably not news, but just because we know that recovery is important doesn't make it easy to do and it doesn't mean we know how. Why is recovery so elusive? Well, we’re not taught how to recover, at least not the same way we are taught to work hard. The focus in most athletic and artistic endeavours is work, either in terms of skill acquisition or production or both. Recovery is often an after thought, only considered once we are run down, frustrated or injured. Don’t get me wrong, I love hard work, but the results that you get from hard work are limited by how well you recover. Recovery is the secret hack to all the gains without the pains. It’s just a bit more involved than taking a rest week every few months or buying a new foam roller. The process of Recovery involves 3 main steps, all involving resources:
The coolest part of this is all 3 of these steps are trainable! Thats right, we can not only get better at getting ENOUGH resources, we can also train in a way that increase our ability to distribute and use them! This means better, faster recovery and MORE GAINS! Way cooler than a rest week right? (And certainly more enjoyable than ice baths) So I want to know: Are you ready to stop wasting your time and start centring recovery instead of just hard work in your training practice? The next 2 weeks are all about ways to start doing just that! Stay tuned! Sido Work with me!

In life, in training, for a...
